The beach is three-minutes walk from the cottage. You can walk all the way along the coast to Elie in about 3 hours and catch the bus back. There is an excellent pub with superb food in Elie - the fish and chips is a must. The Ship Inn
Facilities:
The Railway Inn is about 500 m from
the cottage, situated under the old viaduct and has a good selection of ales and malts.
Quiz night is once a week on Thursdays and for the summer there is a secluded beer garden behind the building.
The Crusoe Hotel is also close by and worth a visit.´It has a good
bistro and a restaurant.
The are two other hotels in the village with good restaurant facilties.
The village shop is next to the Railway Inn and there are other shops, including am excellent baker, post office and pharmasist all
within walking distance.

Lower Largo was the home of Alexander Serkirk, a local seaman whose life and adventures inspired Daniel Defoe to write the
